Japan’s Okinawa Found More Doses of Moderna’s COVID-19 Vaccine with Foreign Substances

BATTLEFORWORLD.COM | August 29, 2021: Japan’s health ministry announced Saturday (August 28) that it has found more contaminated doses of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine with different lot numbers than those suspended earlier that were also contaminated with foreign substances. The second find of contaminated vaccines with foreign substances were distributed at a vaccination site in the southern prefecture Okinawan city of Nahain. And as a result, COVID-19 vaccinations over the weekend in the prefecture were suspended.

The contaminated vaccines Japanese media is reporting were distributed to 863 vaccination centers across the country, said Takeda Pharmaceutical Co. the vaccine distributor.
