    In Hugo’s story, the guy loses his phone which has his ID and passport on it, and can’t enter the building in which he lives. Had he been chipped, of course it couldn’t have happened. Watch for events like this when the passports are rolled out, as having everyone chipped is their goal.

      As you say the behavioural insights gang would view such scenarios as a means to incentivise and coerce the public. A form of “nudge” frequently employed in covid coercion already.

    The anti-humanity Covid autocracy would have that scenario covered already: All of your data, including every single byte that is stored on your smart phone would be backed up in real-time on their infinite capacity and universally accessible cloud storage. If anyone ‘lost’ (genuinely or deliberately threw away), their phone, they would even give them (free of charge) a new phone with all their data fully intact.

    If you try to refuse their ‘kind offer’, they’d just cart you off to some covid indoctrination or re-education camp and and keep you interned there until you agree to allow them to track & trace your every move 24/7.
    Otherwise they’ll exterminate force ‘vaccinate’ you for non-compliance.
