If they don’t comply, they will risk being stung with fines of £100 when the new rules take hold on July 24.
The announcement comes just two days after Michael Gove insisted there was no need to make face coverings mandatory in shops and supermarkets, saying it was “always better to trust to people’s common sense”.
However, despite his protestations, it feels as if there has been a sea change in attitudes at the top.

On a trip to the London Ambulance Service yesterday, the masked Prime Minister said they had a “a great deal of value” in keeping people safe from coronavirus in confined spaces.

Britain is lagging behind other nations on the issue, with compliance far higher across the globe.
Only a quarter of us regularly wear one in public, compared to over 80 per cent of Italians and two in three Spaniards.
TAP. I don’t see anyone wearing one where we live.
In the United States, where the issue has kicked up particular political controversy, three fifths of Americans comply and Donald Trump has even taken to wearing his own customised mask in recent days.
TAP. Well done Brits. Bollox to Johnson. And his medical cartel cronies making millions out of C-VOID OF TRUTH like Owen Paterson MP and Hancock MP. Masks be damned. Who will enforce it if 90% won’t wear them? No one. They just want to cream off their filthy profits. Ignore them.
Perhaps we were all listening a little too closely back in March when Chief Medical Officer Chris Whitty told people not to wear one, saying it “reduces the risk almost not at all”.
How times have changed. While there is still room for debate, it feels as if scientists are slowly tiptoeing towards an altogether different consensus on the issue.
Last week, the World Health Organisation said there was “emerging evidence” that Covid-19 could be spread through particles in the air and Prof Sir Venki Ramakrishnan, president of the Royal Society, insisted that coverings should then be worn “whenever you are in crowded public spaces”.
However, my colleague Camilla Tominey writes that the decision may well have been made on economic grounds and is an interesting snapshot of how the decision leaves the Tories tussling with their libertarian principles.

The illness was analysed by Dr Judy Makowitz as being caused by the flu vaccine – the role of vaccines another typical element of fake epidemics. See Hepatitis vaccine and AIDS, for example. The tampered with Coronavirus triggered a blood clotting condition in people who had had the flu shot (most old people in the UK receive it on their GP’s advice). This blood clotting condition is cured with an anti-coagulant but in the UK none of the victims were given any. The illness was wrongly categorised as respiratory and the victims were put on ventilators which quickly killed them.
The high number of deaths amongst foreign nurses is also explained partly by their having to have the flu vaccine to keep their jobs, partly by their lack of Vitamin D, and partly by wrong classification of their deaths as COVID 19 as with many others. It is possible some were poisoned early on to keep the fear flowing. Reports of perfectly healthy uses turning blue and dying with no other symptoms suggested that possibility. The organisers of the fear will stop at nothing, I am quite sure.
Nurse deaths were the most effective in the media, and always appear in fake epidemics. SARS 1 in 2003 taught them that little trick. You wonder if Boris’ illness was a result of his having the flu vaccine very publicly three weeks before his illness. Was the COVID-19 test he was then given, also very publicly, contaminated (another method of delivery of cases)? Or was he simply poisoned like some of the nurses might have been with an agent like cyanide? He has never been the same Boris since whatever took place happened. He must know it was an attempt which he miraculously survived, and he has decided to keep his head down ever since.
