Get drunk. Save jobs. Do they actually care about jobs and businesses?
Mon 8:30 am +01:00, 8 Jun 2020The PM has been shocked by warnings that 3.5 million jobs in the hospitality sector are at risk and wants to rush through plans to allow some level of reopening. Backed by the self-titled “save summer six” ministers, Johnson reportedly wants to bring forward the date at which pubs, restaurants and theme parks can reopen, although it is likely to be outdoor service only. The whole COVID game is part of a bigger platform as Prince Charles explains. Getting rid of independent minded people is top of his list.

As the International Organization for Public-Private Cooperation, the World Economic Forum is mobilizing all stakeholders to protect lives and livelihoods.

The dramatic spread of COVID-19 has disrupted lives, livelihoods, communities and businesses worldwide. All stakeholders, especially global business, must urgently come together to minimize its impact on public health and limit its potential for further disruption to lives and economies around the world.
But the sum of many individual actions will not add up to a sufficient response. Only coordinated action by business, combined with global, multistakeholder cooperation – at exceptional scale and speed – can potentially mitigate the risk and impact of this unprecedented crisis.

Bending the Curve of Fake Pandemic News
Since 2016, a global community of fact checkers has taken shape to fight fake news and misinformation online, much of which is generated by authoritarian regimes. Now that we are in the grips of a deadly pandemic, these efforts must be celebrated and strengthened.
About
Our Mission
Infotagion has been created in response to the information contagion about COVID-19. In a public health crisis the disinformation we see everyday about this deadly virus can spread just as far and fast as the real thing. Yet this can also harm you and those that you love. That’s why we have to fight back. Much of this disinformation exists in private channels that very many people have access to, but not everyone can see. So we need you to share with us the things that don’t look right, we will check the facts, and give you the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth.
Our Fact Checking Methodology
COVID-19 is a serious virus and people who share information about it need to back up what they say. At Infotagion we check the facts in the messages people send through social media, against independent, trusted and official sources, like public health services and the World Health Organisation (WHO). If the key claims made within the messages we see are false or can’t be proven, we will warn you not to share them. COVID-19 is too important to take risks with unreliable information.
Who’s Behind Infotagion?
Infotagion: Covid-19 is an organisation created by Damian Collins MP, former Chair of the Digital, Culture, Media and Sport select committee, who also led the inquiries on disinformation and fake news, David Sefton, a venture capital investor and public company director with longstanding technology experience, and the executive team of Iconic Labs Plc, John Quinlan, Liam Harrington and Samuel Regan Asante, who before previously created UNILAD, then the world’s largest social media publisher. Branding and design was provided by Chris Gunn and Tom Love founders of LoveGunn, the award-winning design agency.
