March to Parliament Square
At this Saturday’s march, Stop the War will be highlighting the dangerous foreign policy that this government is committed to. While the Trump visit has been put on hold for the time being, we should be under no illusions about Theresa May and Michael Fallon’s determination to follow every twist and turn of US foreign policy. Just three days ago, Donald Trump indicated that his government may be planning a further escalation of his wars in the Middle East, something which surprised even many military experts in Washington. True to form, UK Defence Secretary Michael Fallon has already recklessly committed to support any US-led escalation. The end game against ISIS in Mosul and Raqaa threatens to create even greater rivalry from the different powers in the region, with the threat of escalation to which Trump and his close ally Saudi Arabia are inextricably linked.
Join us as we march against this government’s permanent war agenda, its sale of arms to despotic regimes such as Saudi Arabia, the murderous special relationship between May and Trump, and its squandering of public resources on military interventions, whose main achievement so far has been the creation of extreme misery in distant lands.
Transport to this very important demonstration is being arranged from across the country. For details see here.
Please join us on the march and if you can volunteer for Stop the War on the day please let us know at firstname.lastname@example.org.
