The most important health discovery of the century for cancer and more!

If you or someone you know and love is faced with cancer or another life threatening or debilitating illness, and the information shared here and on our cancer page connects with you, please reach out to us through our contact page to learn more about how to implement this strategy as our family did.

It’s been said that the most powerful weapons that a cancer patient possesses in their fight are information and an open mind.  Unfortunately, we along with nearly all new patients diagnosed with cancer didn’t have a chance to use these weapons.  I think back to sitting in the oncologist’s office when my wife was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer in October of 2012, and in a neurologist’s office for my son’s glioma (brain tumor) diagnosis in July of 2013, and having the fear of God put into us.  There is no time for gathering information and keeping an open mind to alternative treatments when dealing with the medical establishement.  Their answer is “immediately start our prescribed treatment plan, or certain death awaits”.  After the initial shock of hearing this, we immediately began treatment as nearly everyone who has the shock of hearing “you have cancer” does.

That treatment plan will consist of either chemotherapy, surgery, or radiation, but most likely a combination of more than one of these options.  Throughout my wife’s brutal battle including all three of these and two prolonged hospital stays, followed by watching my son nearly lose his life to chemotherapy and then losing half of his eyesight from surgery, the fear of losing them led to hundreds of hours researching these three chosen modalities of the cancer industry in great detail.  Here’s what I’ve gathered after doing so.

First, I believe that the cancer industry’s understanding of the disease and how to attack it is misguided.  The proliferation of cancer in the body is not something to “be attacked”, but a warning sign put out by the body that something is wrong and needs to be addressed.  It’s typically a build up of toxins after a severe drop in our immune systems.  This can be brought on by a variety of issues including continually eating the wrong foods, using products with known carcinogens in them, lack of proper hydration, and a number of other environmental factors, but the most important and overlooked factor is stress in ones life.  In the majority of cancer patients, something stressful was happening in their lives in the months and years leading up to their diagnosis that needs to be addressed and changed if it is to be beaten and stay in remission.

Our medical system chooses to “attack” the tumor with three options which has devastating consequences for many patients, and is severely flawed at best.  Doing these may successfully shrink or remove the tumor, but they also SEVERELY compromise our immune systems which is our most important weapon we have when trying to remove the toxins from our body that bring about a cancerous tumor in the first place.

While these modalities may temporarily solve the problem for some patients, there is such a high percentage of death and recurrence with conventional treatment due to this sad fact.   A compromised immune system often times leads to the death of the patient, or a recurrence within a short amount of time as my wife saw time and time again seeing second and third time patients as she was going through her radiation treatmentsThe five year survival rate for cancer patients opting for conventional treatment in this country varies from a dismal 26% to 4% depending on the type of cancer.  This is unacceptable, and there is a better way.

Thankfully, I learned a long list of ways to boost both Deb and Kyle’s immune systems which played a major role in getting them through their treatment plans and in keeping them healthy to date after completing them.  Deb has gone on to become a certified health and wellness coach, and Kyle is back to regularly attending high school classes for the first time in a year despite his challenges.  Our family will continue to utilize the skills that we have learned for the rest of our lives and the purpose of this website is to share them with my readers so that you can proactively take control of your health and avoid having to confront what we did.

But that’s not the main focus of this post.  I want to discuss what I feel is the most important thing that I’ve discovered during my research when it comes to successfully battling cancer and so many other debilitating diseases.  This would be the case whether a person diagnosed with cancer decides to move forward with some combination of conventional treatment or to forgo it altogether.

When Kyle nearly lost his life to chemotherapy and we stopped treatment to take him to a nationally renowned hospital where they said that they could try operating, the thought was to only remove a portion of his tumor due to an artery running through it.  I was terrified that chemotherapy would be ordered for him to “manage” what remained of the tumor after the surgery and put him in the same deteriorating position again.

It was then that I found out about what I feel is the most promising finding in the last century when it comes to cancer treatment and so many other debilitating diseases.

In early February of this year, I came across an article explaining something about our body’s endocannabanoid system being a master regulator for a variety of imbalances that can occur in the body.   Dr. Vincent DiMarzo PHD simply put it, “It helps us eat, sleep, relax, protect, and forget.”  The endocannabanoid system or ECS for short is named after the plant that led to its discovery and was first identified in the late 1980’s.  Endocannabinoids and their receptors are found throughout the body: in the brain, organs, connective tissues, glands, and immune cells as seen below.

The receptors in the ECS perform a variety of tasks, but the goal is always the same: homeostasis, the maintenance of a stable internal environment despite fluctuations in the external environment.  Cannabinoids promote homeostasis at every level of biological life, from the sub-cellular, to the entire individual organism.

Here’s one example: autophagy, a process in which a cell sequesters part of its contents to be self-digested and recycled. While this process keeps normal cells alive, allowing them to maintain a balance between the synthesis, degradation, and subsequent recycling of cellular products, it has a deadly effect on malignant tumor cells, causing them to be consumed through apoptosis, or cell suicide. The death of cancer cells, of course, promotes homeostasis and survival of the entire organism.

When the ECS is given the proper fuel and is operating at peak performance, it can effectively tackle a wide variety of ailments including cancer.  So what is the fuel it needs to work properly?  The answer is cannabis.  When I first learned this, I had visions of people “getting high” smoking weed, or having to try to smuggle illegal oil out of Colorado to try to treat my son.  When I came across the cannabanoid called CBD, all of my preconceived notions and fears on this topic were put to rest.  Let me explain.

The term cannabis incorporates two different types of plants.  First is the marijuana plant which is very high in the cannabinoid known as THC which causes people to feel high when they smoke or ingest it.  The cousin to the marijuana plant is the hemp plant which has microscopic amounts of THC and is very high in the cannabanoid known as cannabidiol or CBD for short.  CBD causes no feeling of euphoria and is therefore 100% legal in all 50 states.  When I learned how beneficial CBD was when compared to THC and all of the other cannabanoids as shown below, I was convinced that I had found my answer for Kyle.

CBD benefits

So how does CBD work in the body, and what can it relieve?  Think of your body’s ECS having billions of tiny locks in it (called CB1 and CB2 receptors), and CBD is the key that perfectly fits those locks. Introducing CBD into the body prompts the ECS to boost production of our body’s endocannabanoid called anandamide.  Anandamide mates with CB1 receptors found in our brain and CB2 receptors found in our immune system which in turn stimulate the production of a chemical called ceramideCeramide is like your body’s seal team.  Their mission is to go in and “clean up the mess” wherever it resides.  Technically, it kills off the mitochondria found in cancer cells which leads to apoptosis or cell suicide.

When addressing what CBD can relieve and how it stacks up against other cannabanoids regarding potential benefits, the graphic below does a great job of elaborating:

When learning this, I promptly ordered a supply of high grade CBD oil that went through a rigorous third party testing to confirm it’s low levels of THC (which makes it legal), and high levels of CBD (which makes it effective).  Unfortunately,  we were not given the opportunity to exclusively use  the oils on Kyle because a swelling cyst on top of his tumor seen on the right below proved to be life threatening and forced us into surgery.

After surgery                     Before surgery

The wonderful news was that nearly all of the tumor was removed, the downside is his loss of half of his vision due to “field cuts” during the surgery.  Post surgery Kyle has continued on a daily regimen of a “maintenance dose” of the oils to assist with recovery from the surgery and chemotherapy and his last scan in October looks good.  Deb unfortunately experienced some mistakes during her treatment that caused her cancer to spread into her lymph channels which is a rare situation.  Because of this, we have implemented a number of lifestyle changes that are anti-cancer, and taking high grade CBD oil daily has become part of her regimen.  I also take a more diluted form of CBD oil in liquid form on a daily basis as a preventative measure.

Since Kyle’s surgery in February through this summer, I have continued to research how the endocannabanoid system works and exactly how CBD positively effects it.  I have attended seminars where I’ve met cured patients, and talked with doctors who actually prescribe this to their patients as a protocol.  The more I learn about it, the more convinced I am that this is the future of cancer treatment and a wide variety of other ailments including things like MS, Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, Epilepsy, Fibromyalgia, Lyme’s disease and all of the other ailments seen on the pie chart shown above.

We have seen so many amazing outcomes for people who have taken the oil firsthand.  Seeing these outcomes has strengthened our resolve, and we are now working with a number of families facing cancer on exactly how to incorporate this into their daily regimen along with a number of other anti-cancer strategies to take away what cancer needs to thrive, and to give the body what it needs to heal.  We feel blessed to have the honor to give back to people after what we have endured as a family.

So where does the FDA, the AMA, and the ACS stand in all of this?  Well they’re not exactly sounding the trumpets announcing a cure for cancer.  When something as promising as this can’t get a clinical trial, you have to use your discernment and ask yourself why.  I have a mountain of research on what I believe and why, but that’s for another blog post.  Let’s just say that the business of “managing cancer” in this country brings in $200 Billion every year to the doctors and pharmaceutical companies and they’re quite content with the way things are.  Let’s also say that if there wasn’t any promise for the use of cannabanoids as medicine, then the U.S. government wouldn’t have patented them to be used as antioxidants and neuroprotectants as can be seen at this link

Unfortunately, the beneficial effects of CBD have been withheld from the public by the medical establishment since their patenting it in 1999.  In Britain, they have begun growing green houses of medicinal marijuana, and have awarded the first patent ever for a synthetic spray called Sativex to GW Pharmaceuticals for the potential treatment of MS related symptoms.  My best guess is that you won’t see a pharmaceutical option that incorporates the medicinal properties of cannabanoids in the states for at least another 5 years.  The FDA is taking their sweet time with this because it completely threatens the profitable system that is currently in place.  In the mean time we’re stuck with the big 3 of chemo, radiation and surgery unless we’re willing to use information and an open mind to think outside of the box for ourselves.

The overwhelmingly positive effects of high grade CBD oil for the treatment of cancer is becoming mainstream news on a variety of sources as can be seen here:

It’s also been embraced by some of our nation’s most trusted doctors such as Dr. Sanjay Gupta as was covered in his documentaries “Weed” and “Weed 2”, and by Dr. Oz as he recently told Larry King.

Unfortunately, the way we’ve handled cancer to this point in this country has been a dismal failure.  We’ve gone from 1 in 40 getting cancer a century ago to 1 out of 10 when the “War on Cancer” was declared in 1971 by Richard Nixon, and we’re now at 1 in 2 men (a coin flip) and 1 in 3 women getting cancer during their lifetimes.  A February 2014 article says that cancer rates are expected to soar by 70% over the next 20 years.  How is this “winning the war on cancer?”

I’m not a doctor, just a regular person like you who’s reading this.  But I have seen the cancer industry up close and personal over the last two years and I didn’t like what I saw most of the time.  Making the decision on whether or not to pursue conventional treatment methods when it comes to fighting cancer is a personal choice for everyone.  What I will say is that if you or someone you love does decide to pursue them, CBD has been proven to dramatically decrease the side effects from chemotherapy, and can substantially assist the body with maintaining its immune system which is critical for success when trying to win the fight.

If you have any questions at all regarding this protocol and how it can help you or a friend or loved one battling cancer or any other chronic disease, please don’t hesitate to reach out on our contact page.  If you leave your phone number, I’ll be sure to get back to you as early as I can to answer any questions and discuss your particular situation.

I’ve taken this on as a personal mission, and my wife and I are acting as advocates on behalf of cancer patients who are in difficult situations, people battling MS, and other ailments.  This is what gets me out of bed every day with the excitement of seeing things finally change when it comes to people enduring the harshness of these diseases.  We have already seen positive results for patients enduring conventional treatment, and those forgoing it alike.  Our new calling is to put our experience to work on behalf of others to improve outcomes and make a difference.  Helping them with getting the CBD oil and walking them through how to properly use it has been an integral part of this process.

We do this in honor of our friends and loved ones that we’ve recently lost to this terrible disease and the children that we encountered during Kyle’s treatment enduring things that they should never have to.  If even one life is saved as a result of our efforts, then everything that I plan to dedicate to this effort will be well worth it.  For that reason, I’m asking you for your help by sharing this post with the people you know via social media to spread the word.  It could make an incredible difference in their outcome.
