Ahmadinejad unscathed in helicopter accident
Iran’s President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has been reported safe and well following an emergency landing in his helicopter on Sunday. An unspecified ‘accident’ was reported by his office, but the pilot successfully landed the aircraft safely. Ahmadinejad had been en route to see a local project in the mountainous northeast of the country, which he managed to conclude, returning to the capital, Tehran, by car. His term in office will draw to a close on August 3, following elections ofJune 14.
