How Come The Tap Blog Has Moved To New Zealand?

I just checked sitemeter for www.the-tap.blogspot.com as I often do, to find this.

Do you notice anything? My blog has sprouted a New Zealand address. Take this visitor record. They referred from beforeitsnews to read the post on Alex Jones from yesterday, visited 7 pages in total and read for about 25 minutes. If I key my blog with the .co.nz URL as in this record, it works exactly the same as if it was in the original .com version.

What exactly is going on? This is a bit weird! Will Google now not include New Zealand hits in my account totals? How many other versions of The Tap are sprouting around the globe. Has anyone seen this kind of thing anywhere else? Do I have guardian angel, or an interloper?

I’ve seen that on a few blogs tap.
Dick Puddlecote’s was the last time I saw it I think.
It’s nothing ‘sinister’. Just googles new plan for sectioning countries so that they are able to block content in each country under the new censorship rules in that country rather than blocking things worldwide ( it does sound sinister actually lol)
If you log onto your site from NZ or wherever you will log onto the NZ sectioned tap blog. This means that NZ can block your blog while the rest of the world doesn’t. Google has offered this facility to countries with the end tag on each tap url now being country specific.
Suggest £30 a year for a 1&1 account ?

Thanks for all these comments. We’ve got a backburner plan to set up a mirror site on wordpress if the google changes become problematic in any parts of the world.

There’s also the chance that these changes are partly commercial, as well as regulatory. We’ll keep the service going one way or another.

Nice to see you are being kept intellectually challenged in your nice little backwater tap. Internet censorship is very much on the agenda at the mo., OWG hates it when they have no control…but the anarchic nature of the net will prevail, I have no doubt.

Tap, is there a EURO 2012 conspiracy that has forced Capello to resign as England manager because it has been decided England will win?

It’s a bit of fun. You don’t have to do a post on this. Just offering it up.

    It’s all politics

The new England manager will agree to win the European Cup and how and not tell anyone it’s fixed. How do I know? Err, the act of removing John Terry as captain is a political act. It fixes England’s EURO 2012 campaign because it forces one manager to resign, a different manager to come in, a new captain and completely different team selection.

The highly convenient consequence is an Italian manager of a successful England team has, at the last moment, been replaced with an English manager (not as of writing, but Englishmen are said to be the only options), and an accused racist is not going to be allowed to raise the trophy. (This might be considered a good thing but that’s not very interesting).

It’s not that the football authorities have a problem with taking foreign managers to championship finals. It’s just they mustn’t win. Sven Goran Eriksson, the Swede, went to a World Cup. It didn’t matter because England was pencilled in to lose at the quarter-finals stage.

The seven-figure sums the FA were committed to pay Capello to qualify England suggests the qualification wasn’t fixed, otherwise you’d get in someone cheap. At that time the politics of who was to win at the highly important and political finals were not yet bargained over by the politicians.

Why was England chosen? England gave the hosting of the 2018 World Cup to Russia – the surprise bid winners after England’s own £15m campaign ended in humiliating defeat – in exchange for an assurance they would be handed EURO 2012 trophy in Poland/Ukraine. I’m sure it’s a coincidence these nations are geographically quite close to Russia.

Ever since the decision was made to award the 2012 European Championship to England Capello became surplus to requirements. Let me explain how Capello was forced to resign.

Terry’s position, centre-back is the most important position on the pitch. The player in this position is most often captain because he’s the outfield player – a defender – with the best view of the pitch when the opposition has the ball.

By stripping John Terry of the captaincy the FA was picking not just the England captain but WHOLE the England team. Terry was not just Capello’s choice as England captain, he was also England’s most experienced and best central defender. Moreover if he’s not captain he couldn’t play!

Why’s that? If Terry’s not the captain the manager’s next preferred captain with the most experience would likely be Rio Ferdinand – who happens to be the brother of Anton Ferdinand – John Terry’s accuser! How inappropriate! An impossible situation.

Capello knows he couldn’t pick Terry for the team if he’s not captain as it would undermine Rio’s position – and if he can’t pick Terry he can’t pick the best team. Losing experience in central defence might also force Capello to add experience elsewhere – totally messing up the balance of the team.

So you have the FA picking the England captain AND the whole England team. No manager would stand for that. Capello can’t do his job. He is no longer responsible for England’s performances. He has no option but to resign.

In doing this the FA should have wrecked England’s preparation for the Euro championship. However, their expensive and successful foreign managerial acquisition became surplus to requirements after England got the political nod to win Euro 2012.

Still, I’d put money on us missing the crucial (dodgy) penalty in the last five minutes of the final and then our keeper letting a tame shot through his legs. There’s only so much you can fix.
