Gun Criminal

There is not much to add about the Cumbria killings. Just that I did notice that the killer had a criminal record. Surely the obtaining of a criminal record should be sufficient to suspend all gun licenses. The gun risk assessment of an individual must surely be changed by his being a known criminal. Just a thought.

Perhaps those with criminal records should not be afforded the protection of a gun?

    Okay, that’s Harriet Harman out!

Hitchens is pondering the possibilty of anti-depressants being involved.

Or could it have been linked with pressure from the taxman (remember this case)?

Anti-depressants are a regular theme. Hitchens could be onto something.

Anti-depressants are a multi-billion dollar industry. They won’t ban those.

Hitchens first point about hanging is also a good one, but not in cases where the perpetrator’s shot himself! The recurrence of anti-depressants as a factor in multiple killings seems to be worth thinking about.

The Police seemed to have had a good chance to apprehend Byrd after three killings with many locals knowing his exact whereabouts. That’s all being hushed up, it seems. Maybe the local police were told to avoid him as they were not armed.
