They couldn’t survive without the media to control the population. I don’t watch TV apart from occasional chosen films etc. My wife watches it though, and it contradicts reality so much, that it is unwatchable if you stumble into a “news”, program unexpectedly.
The question suggests that at some point in history, the media haven’t been lying whores for corporate (and government) interests…?
