Lampeter bans 5G

For Boris Johnson, the Prime Minister, 5G represents a “fantastic technology, fantastic communications”. But for Lampeter, a 3,000-strong town, 15 miles from the Welsh coast, the ultra-fast, ultra-low latency mobile phone technology represents a potential danger “to both humans and the environment”.

So powerful is local feeling that the council has passed a motion to “adopt the precautionary principle and… not endorse the rollout of 5G”.

At a meeting last week, it confirmed that it awaited “independent scientific consensus that 5G wireless radiation is harmless”.

Well done the Cardies.
