Slaughter of Remoaner MPs in mass deselection campaign

More heads are about to roll after Leave.EU’s AGM initiative got off to a ruthlessly effective start this week. The response to this initiative, part of our deselection campaign, to put forward motions of no confidence in the sitting MP at Conservative Party annual general meetings has been overwhelming. Already, we’re poised to win another big scalp after slaying Anna Soubry, Sarah Wollaston and Heidi Allen last week.

Yesterday, we learned supporters of Caroline Spelman in Meriden have been plotting to finalise the agenda for their upcoming AGM and close out any chance for Conservative activists to get her booted out.

Within 24 hours, a letter had been sent to the branch chairman for a no-confidence vote. Hopefully, she’s on her way out. This afternoon, two Leave.EU supporters in Rugby got in touch with us to say they will shortly deliver their MP, Mark Pawsey his P45. If you’re about to send in your letter, get in touch with usand we’ll support you in any way we can.

Meanwhile – petitions, the other deselection route – are growing at a rapid rate. Eurofanatic MPs Dominic Grieve, Philip Lee, Sam Gyimah, Antoinette Sandbach and Jo Johnson are all about to be summoned to a Special General Meeting where activists will vote on no-confidence motions. Simon Hoare and David Gauke will soon receive notices. Nasty Nick Boles has already been read the riot act by his members.

Ex-defence secretary Michael Fallon is another who has lost the trust of local members after the Sevenoaks Conservative Association chair walked out in disgust at his continuous attempts to block Brexit.

Following Mrs May’s abominable decision to hand control of withdrawal over to Parliament, along with Jeremy Corbyn’s predictably pathetic second referendum pledge, we are faced with either a very bad Brexit or none at all.

If MPs are allowed free rein to side with either of these dreadful options, we will have been well and truly betrayed. Which is why our deselection initiative is so important. We need to put the frighteners on our shoddy representatives.

So join our campaign to stick two fingers up at your local Remainer MP.

There are two ways of getting rid of your MP via a motion of no-confidence: a petition and special general meeting or by simply adding the motion at your upcoming AGM.

Before participating, please note that you need to:

  • Have been a member of the Conservative Party for at least three months
  • Live in a Tory-held constituency. We are only targeting MPs who are assisting with Theresa May’s Brexit strategy and those attempting to sabotage it altogether.

If these criteria don’t apply to you, we encourage you to make a donation to support our expanding operation.

Annual General Meeting
This process is the simplest. All you need to do is send a letter (we’ve prepared a template for you here). Print off two copies. One to send to your association chairman, the other is for your local party secretary. Ensure both copies are filled out appropriately (blank fields contain instructions in red), signed by the proposer and seconder and sent via recorded delivery. The Chairman will publish the agenda seven days in advance of the meeting so get your letters in soon. Click here to find out the date and location of your AGM. If you can’t find details, contact your association.

Dear Friends and Supports

Springtime for Brexit Betrayals

Happy St David’s Day and this week we have a fresh batch of Betrayals for Leave voters, by, among others, Jeremy Corbyn the Leader of the Labour Party.

This week’s Daily Telegraph “Choppers Brexit Podcast” included a cracker of a quote from Boris Johnson: “The gross sum of £350 million pounds per week which was on the side of the bus in the Vote Leave EU Referendum campaign, it turns out was wrong. The actual gross figure by 2022 were we to stay in would be £438 million a week. So, we are going to need a bigger bus!”

Even more money which can be spent on British services.

The Prime Minister has been in Brussels again and surprise suprise, she has returned empty handed. The presence of the Attorney General, Geoffrey Cox QC – advisor to the Crown and to the Government – seemed to be tilting the balance in Britain’s favour in the Brexit negotiations in Brussels. As yet their efforts have borne no fruit. Increasingly, Theresa May has been losing control over her Cabinet. A group of prominent and important Cabinet ministers including Amber Rudd, Phillip Hammond, Greg Clark and Margot James, have insisted the PM must remove the No Deal option, coming out in the Press to attack the policy. This is completely unacceptable. These ministers have completely ignored the principles of ‘Cabinet Collective Responsibility’ and they shame the positions they hold. Under any other government they would have been fired from Cabinet immediately for undermining Government policy. May needs to sack them all and any Cabinet members or ministers who stand in the way of Brexit in the future. The British people voted to Leave the EU and the PM has repeatedly promised we will Leave the EU on the 29th March ‘With or Without a Deal’!

George Eustace MP the now former Environment Minister, has at least stuck to some principles by resigning his position, in protest over the proposed vote to delay Brexit, scheduled to take place by March 14th. It seems, some MPs in Parliament, actually want to deliver what they campaigned for at the last General Election!

The Labour Party and Jeremy Corbyn have descended into new depths of chaos, making the PM and her betrayal Brexit look calm by comparison. Labour has been divided over the resignation of nine MPs, and Jeremy Corbyn has left it until the 11th hour to adopt a Brexit position. But lo and behold, he has abandoned his previously predominant Eurosceptic principles, to betray Brexit and millions of Labour voters, to back a second referendum.

He has betrayed himself, his Party and the 17.4 million who voted Leave. He has also gone directly against his Shadow Chancellor, John McDonnel and Deputy Labour Leader, Tom Watson.

We have also seen the creation of the so called “TIGs” – The Independent Group. They are composed of 8 Labour MPs and 3 Conservatives, and are, by-in-large, the last remnant of Remain and the ‘People’s Vote’. It is the group so beset on stopping Brexit, they have left the Parties which gave them political office. Their commitment to try and stop Brexit has only been cemented by their appointment of Anna Soubry as their Brexit spokesperson! In the case of some ex-Labour MPs there is also the legitimate reason to resign because of systematic anti-Semitism and bullying now rife within the Labour Party. However, Brexit is their unifying issue. They are not a real threat to Brexit at the moment. These MPs should allow their local associations to hold by-elections so their constituents can have the representatives they deserve.

It is rumoured some Tory MPs are prepared to vote for Mrs May’s deal in exchange for a timetable for when she will resign as Leader. The sooner the better, as far as Get Britain Out is concerned, and certainly before the negotiations on a Free Trade Deal begin if we are unable to Leave under World Trade Organisation rules.

On Monday we will be hand-delivering a letter to all MPs, in advance of the next vote on May’s Agreement (rumoured to be on Wednesday) to stress why it is so important to keep a WTO No Deal on the table. And, we will be including our latest updated leaflet, explaining ‘The 15 Major Failings of the Withdrawal Agreement’. You can see the links to these leaflets below, and you can print them out yourself (or take them to a local printer) to give to all your friends and deliver all around your neighbourhood.

The 15 Major Failings of the Withdrawal Agreement Leaflets

A5 Leaflet

Booklet Leaflet

For both leaflets make sure you set your printer up to print 2 pages per sheet.

For the Booklet leaflet also ensure you change your settings to print on both sides of the paper, that way you get a handy single piece of A4 with 4 pages of information.

Almost the end on a lighter note in case you missed it seems a true Brexit believer has taken some inspiration from Banksy and has produce a rather wonderful masterpiece. You can see it HERE….. Hope you enjoy!

The betrayal of Brexit cannot come to fruition and must be opposed! Please continue to contact your MPs to tell them how you feel, so their Inbox and Postbags are full. It does not matter if they do not reply – as they will still get the message. Even if you have written before, MPs are acknowledging they are receiving them, so it makes a massive difference. It is vital for your voice to be heard, as they are your elected representatives. (You MUST include your address as it confirms you live in their Constituency and they are your MP.)

You can find out who your local MP is and their Constituency office address here, or ring the MP’s secretary in the House of Commons to get the address. You can also ring them to arrange a surgery appointment and take family members and friends along with you too! We also recommend you contact your local Conservative Association. Many Associations Chairs are equally as frustrated as we are, so it is worthwhile telling them your views as well.

Good luck. This is really important, and please let us know you get on – e-mail info@getbritainout.org.

You voted the MPs in in the first place, and if they want to make sure you vote for them next time, they must listen to you! Your concerns about our shambles-of-a-Government’s Brexit negotiations must be listened to. You can help us at Get Britain Out so we save Brexit in the nick of time!

IT IS VITAL TO ENSURE YOUR VOICE IS HEARD!

The Brexit Vote was the most important vote in our lifetimes. The Government was given the biggest mandate for Leave of any vote in any General Election before, and this is the most important issue since the end of the last World War! The result of the EU Referendum MUST be properly honoured – and enforced. We must not be betrayed!

It’s only 28 days now until we take back control and regain our independence!!!

BRIEFLY, THIS IS SOME OF WHAT WE HAVE BEEN UP TO SINCE OUR LAST UPDATE:

Our Joshua Mackenzie-Lawrie has written his latest piece for the Commentator on how A WTO Brexit is Britain’s best bet

And Get Britain Out’s Joel Casement has written for The Commentator on how Brexit Britain is braced to lead next Industrial Revolution

That’s it for this ACTION edition of our e-Bulletin – and a massive thank-you, as always, for your ACTION and for all your support. We will keep on fighting for the Best Brexit for the United Kingdom, with your help if possible, so we can take back control of our laws, borders, trade and money.

Best wishes,

Jayne Adye, Campaign Director and the Team at Get Britain Out
