CNN’s Christiane Amanpour assumes Russia invaded / annexed the Crimea. As does the BBC by the way.
Crimea? The Crimea? Ukraine? The Ukraine? You say tomay-to, I say tomah-to… for some reason I grew up understanding it was ‘The’… never mind. I digress.
As I understand the people of Crimea asked Russia to stand by them because they do not want to be ruled by a Kiev based government they perceive as very ‘right-wing’ verging on ‘neo-Nazi’ and helped into place by Victoria Nuland, Chevron, the €U and George Soros; but then may be I’m a victim of fake news?! Aren’t these terms right-left-wing and neo-this and neo-that bizarre… again, I digress.
So, upon the assumption that the Ukrainian government is good and Putin is bad, Amanpour says to Marine La Pen:
“It’s really important this, because it’s the fundamentals of international law…”
I would suggest to you Christiane, wife of James Rubin, a huge Clinton fan who regularly appeared on BBC R4 Today news programme to denounce Trump, you do not get it. The clip is featured here at Patrick Henningsen’s 21st Century Wire:

Christiane Amanpour – a self professed doyenne of authentic news?
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christiane_Amanpour… from which it says:
In late 2013, Amanpour raised the argument for intervention to stop the carnage being carried out by the Assad regime against his own people. She has appeared on several news programs in UK and criticised the Obama administration for its non-interventionist approach to Syria.
Amanpour is married to American James Rubin, a former US Assistant Secretary of State and spokesman for the US State Department during the Clinton administration and an informal adviser to former US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and to President Obama.
I find it interesting to see what good old ‘reliable’ Wikipedia says about people.
Ah yes, this is her – Amanpour receives Press Freedom Award in which she says
“… those bits of Donald Trump remind us of the peril that we face… the authoritarians around the world like… Erdoğan, Putin, Duterte… and all those other people..”
… this I propose to you, is an example at work of what John Lamb Lash introduced to us as archonic (archontic?) inversion. Hillary Clinton is a past master of archonic inversion.
