Paul Craig Roberts – The Fate Of The Entire World Is About To Be Decided

Paul Craig Roberts

by Dr. Paul Craig Roberts

According to history books, democracy originated in Greece. Of course, historians could be mistaken, but this is the prevailing view among Western populations with enough awareness to be interested to know.

What we are witnessing today, July 2, 2015, is that after 2,500 years in the Western World only the current Greek government is interested in democracy. The Greek government, to the surprise and consternation of every other European government, has called a referendum for the Greek people to decide the fate of Greece. For resorting to democracy, the Greek government has been universally denounced in the Western World.

So much for Western democracy.

The greatest and most successful propaganda scam in history is the one that convinces the world that they are nobody if they are not part of The West, the indispensable peoples, the exceptional peoples. If you are not part of The West you are nobody, nonexistent, a nothing.

This prevailing propaganda might prevail in Greece on Sunday, in which case a fearful and intimidated Greek population might vote against the only government that, instead of accepting a payoff from Greece’s enemies, fought for the welfare of the Greek people.

If the Greeks vote for their oppressors and against their own government, democracy in the EU will cease to exist.

2,500 years ago Greeks saved their independence from the Persian Empire. Sunday’s vote will tell us whether Greeks have again served liberty or whether they have succumbed to Washington’s Empire.

The fate of all Europeans and of Americans themselves will be settled on Sunday.

Here I am planting a seed.

“Listen” said Jesus, as he began to teach. Crowd big, healing the pull. “A farmer went out…” and so the message begins. This parable interpreted all the others. You want miracles he said?: do it yourself. Here’s the dynamic, the way to reap the remarkable. It’s not this simple… surely?

Being awake is a burden. Makes me want to cry. Love for humanity with a heroic bent is all needed for an upsetting dilemma. Why? The few online screamers, is everyone avoiding or blind? There’s nothing clever about the conspiracy. It sits online, fat with facts but the motive to look is lacking. A curious pastime for many but the hopers and actors for change are few… we struggle, knowing… that to fight with valour and passion we need to believe, we can win. Understandably this falters the hardy. We WILL win is the talk of the warrior. In capacity terms we aren’t looking favourites. The lockdown seems secure but… GOD. Oh yes. Pop that in your actuaries and discuss, oh disrespecting losers.. Shake down coming. Perhaps the top of the heap know the scoop? He is the LIVING word. In this I have faith.

      Back to Mark four.

Wow, Paul Craig Davis sets a lot in store with vote counting – whether carried out by people or machines.
“If the Greeks vote for their oppressors and against their own government, democracy in the EU will cease to exist.” The Greek people HAVEN’T GOT democracy – they’ve got Bankocracy, like the rest of us in the EU, as well as the people in the US. It’s a dictatorship that goes way back beyond so-called Greek civilisation. There’s nothing fearful and intimidated about the majority of the people of Greece – and they’re not stupid either: they know plenty about oppressors and the tricks they use. The majority want OUT of the EU and the Euro, but the murdering “elite” has ways of fiddling with ballot boxes, invigilators, politicians, the media, etc. – and is expert at spinning fear….
“The fate of all Europeans and of Americans themselves will be settled on Sunday.” Utter rubbish! People don’t need fear mongers – or people who big up their own image with inflated remarks like this one. The people of Iceland are ALREADY leading the way. Deep Respect people of Iceland! I salute your courage and determination in standing up to your corrupt politicians and bankers, and jailing some of those filthy criminals.
Paul Craig Roberts: The fate of human beings IS NEVER going to be decided by a ballot box. You’ve been in politics too long, mate.

Remember when Ireland voted NO to the expansion of the EU, well they were told to go away and have another vote in a few months time, whereby they then voted correctly – Yes.

The fact that Democracy is an illusion makes this man look simple… We have never had a democratic process, we were lied to and manipulated into the mess we are in. Ask the middle east if democracy is working since the west destroyed their lives. This is an outrageous statement.

    • Michele says:

It’s not a valid comparison. The Middle East never had democracy to start with, even if the West sure destroyed their lives. The Greeks, on the other hand, invented democracy. Whether they lost it over time is a different story, but while it lasted it was a reality, not an illusion.

I think Paul Craig Roberts is wrong on this. He is assuming that both the referendum will be decisive and that its result will be respected.
In fact, even before voting has begun, each side is saying different things about what it means, and they will no doubt continuing to spin afterwards. Then you have the fact that most Greek people, at least as far as is possible to gather, want to remain within both the EU and the euro, so we’re not talking a Soviet-style independence movement. If it comes to the point where they could leave, the Greeks will kick out their own government rather than do so. This is brinkmanship.
So I don’t see the referendum changing much. I see an almost guaranteed fudge on Sunday, which will be followed by Greece remaining in the euro somehow or other.
