GCSEs are like money

Julia’s observations –

Deserving good weather…
People keep saying that we “deserve” good weather, more sun. Have we been good? Or is it that we don’t think we have had our allotted fair share? Will we one day believe we don’t deserve it? Because we haven’t been good enough. It’s a bit like Santa and his presents, isn’t it? or God and his heaven. Only if you deserve it.

King Victoria ?
The huge statue of Queen Victoria on the side of the Victoria Art Gallery in Bath quite clearly says “HIM” underneath it, with “VICTORIA” underneath that. This is not just me missing out dots or spaces, or changing 1’s to I’s. It says quite plainly “HIM”.

TAPHer Imperial Majesty?  Not bad for the illegitimate daughter of Nathan Mayer Rothschild.

The Sapphire Ring again…
…has been worn by Diana, Kate, Bobby (Whitney “White House” Houston’s daughter) all for their engagement. And also by Sharon Osborne, not quite sure for what. It symbolises Saturn, that controlling Saturday planet. And Rome was once called Saturnia. Does it signify an engagement to Saturn? Surely all of these people are heavily controlled?

Coccyx…
Or cock 6 ? These 6’s are everywhere, or is it just me seeing them everywhere.

The Co words…
We have .com and .co to mean company, a business sort of company that makes money. It used
to be “&Co” to signify a company. I am puzzled why .com is the US equivalent when they have corporations, not companies. But corporation is another co word too. Then there is cooperative (See http://suliwrites.wordpress.com/2012/11/20/the-corporate-cooperative-monopoly/), which sounded nice until it wasn’t. Once upon a time, people thought communism, another co word, sounded nice, but then it wasn’t. Now we have some new ones on the scene. We have coalition and healthy competition. We have the collective, and surely the way forward is community and collaboration? They all sound great don’t they? I am sure company and corporation once sounded nice too, until they got hijacked. Just as people warm to a word or label, it gets hijacked and led down another path. Co words always seems to get controlled.

Recruiting Now…
So reads an advertising hoarding outside a sixth form college. Recruits? Is it an army camp? Unpaid work for 16-18 year olds. Roll up. Sign up, enlist here. Parents only have to fund board and lodging, clothes and equipment, otherwise your work and labour is free! Child labour has not been abolished. Nowadays they don’t even get paid.

Holocaust teaching…
Overheard in the library… A woman in Germany was awarded an Order of Merit for going around schools teaching the Holocaust to kids. I guess it’s important for the Agenda. Does that mean its a new version, fabricated, or do they just want to scare kids with horror at a young age. A bit like the book 1984, when all the films at the cinema are about war.

Airports and Cities…
Airports are becoming cities with their shops and restaurants (all chain names) and facilities and nearby housing for workers. Meanwhile cities, well Bath and Swindon and Reading, seem to becoming transport interchanges. New development is focussed around the station, revamping it for better access, and with chain restaurants and shops. The station provides handy transport for the workers, and for people travelling from one of these samey places to another.

The ABC Murders…
This is an Agatha Christie novel. The first murder victim begins with A in a place beginning with A. The murderer progresses through the alphabet until caught. Great game! It reminds me of hurricanes. They are named in advance and start with A at the beginning of the year. The coincidence of Sandy Hurricane and Sandy Hook massacre makes me think there may be some sort of ABC murder with the massacres, as well as with the hurricanes.

GCSE’s…
…are a bit like money. It’s a bit of paper with a future promise, and you have to work hard to get it. It’s an IOU note. I promise you a future job. People still believe the promise because it looks official, and the teachers tell you it’s a valid promise. But if you look around, the promises are not being met. All part of the future hoax. Sacrifice the present for a dream future. Keep chasing your tail.

Casting and rolling…
Dice are cast and rolled. And we are cast into roles. I don’t know who is the casting director for our roles in life, but there are dice on church fonts (birth), and dice on war memorials (death). Those in charge of Christianity seem to think that dice have something to do with birth and death. To dice with death, to throw a die.

Legoland…
Maybe Lego is early years training for housing developments everywhere. Especially very square sorts of housing. Legoland theme parks are there for a reason, and it’s not for our benefit I am sure.

Leyland…
The law of the land maybe the lay of the land, or even the ley (ley lines) of the land. And then we have British Leyland, surely not named after those hippy ley line things? And then there are the leylandii trees, which are such a huge cause of boundary disputes that they have laws, law of the ley land ii.

Law Lords…
Folk lore is natural law, but we now have our law from the Lawds, Lords. We have in laws and outlaws. Maybe we have in Lords and out Lords too. Why does the d sound change things so much? Oh lordy lordy. Is it the law of death?

Hanging dogs…
Dogs always have a noose around their neck, called a “collar”. Sometimes it’s attached to a rope, called a “lead”. It can’t be a pleasant life being a much loved pet.

Bride and Groom…
There are pubs called The Horse and Groom. A groom is someone that looks after a horse. One of his jobs will be to look after the bridle, or is it the bride? A bridlegroom or a bridegroom? Grooming is something paedophiles do to prepare their victims for sex. And I seem to remember Diana referring to herself as a Royal brood mare, someone whose marriage is just for breeding purposes. B ride. B rood. B Holy rood. Holyrood. That’s a very Royal place.
